I got a free Ares download recently. When I say free Ares download I probably mean “free on the face of it but it made me pay in different ways”. Cryptic? Well read on, I’ll explain.

The free Ares Download that I got was none other than Ares Destiny. Ares Destiny, it turns out (hindsight is a wonderful thing), is a fairly substandard piece of software in any case. What made it especially bad was that there was another program coupled with the software called Dealio. Dealio is a pretty nasty piece of adware that infects your system, pops up little windows when you least want them, and generally makes itself a nuisance. The designers have done a very good job in one respect: getting the damn thing off the computer is pretty much impossible. I gave up in the end and went for a system restore. The hassle this thing caused me is unreal.

Fortunately I was able to do a little research before I made my next attempt at installing a free Ares download. This time around I went for the infinitely more impressive (and cleaner!) Ares Ultimate. It’s the best one for me. If only I’d managed to do some research before, I’d be in a much better position now.
